Do you work out to stay fit?

We are young, immortal, free of much of the flab that will creep in over the years. So do we take our bodies for granted? Or do we run, cycle, climb? Do we count the crunches? Hold the planks? Make the lunges? Please share. Do you work hard to stay fit or let nature take its course.
Do u work out to stay fit?

Absolutely. I set a goal every week for a 90 minute workout at least 3 times a week, mostly involving the treadmill, some weights and a lot of core exercises. I force myself to try and stay fit, even with a busy schedule, because it’s almost like a reward for getting through a busy day; it’s a positive way to work out all the stress and/or frustration you’ve accumulated from the day/week, and the satisfaction you get from the endorphins that are produced from working out is such a great feeling after a workout. So yes, working out is extremely important to me, and that’s before I even get started on why working out, even a couple times a week, is so much better and healthier than letting nature take its course.
I got a lot of exercise at school because I took classes for credit, and I walked EVERYWHERE, so it didn’t really matter that I ate junky stuff — but now that I’m back at home, I had to join a gym to get that exercise I used to get effortlessly. Sometimes I don’t want to go out in the cold and go, and sometimes I just feel like laying around and being lazy, but I force myself to go because I like to eat, and I don’t want to feel guilty about it, and, yeah, I want to stay fit.
Alright, I’m going to be completely honest. I don’t work out at all. I consider my “workout” walking 5 minutes to work and back. So far, my weight has been maintainable on a questionable diet so at the moment I have no reason to complain. However, once my life quiets down the craziness I want to be able to eat healthier and begin to exercise, even if it’s only jogging for a half an hour a day.
I hate working out. And I generally don’t do it. I’m lucky enough to have a great metabolism so I guess it doesn’t really matter, but I know that eventually this bad habit is going to catch up to me.
When I started working a desk job 9-6 and gained *gasp* 3 pounds, I started running, but that didn’t last longer than about a month.
My goal now is to start taking dance lessons or something, because I find that genuinely enjoyable. I think it’s important to start getting in the habit of being active, before this sedentary life comes back to bite me in the ass.
Work out to stay fit – or else I would one flabby woman. Bikini season is crucial.
I totally take it for granted. I feel guilt for that as well. Typically every few months I'll try to get into a running or gym routine, but I've been unable to make it part of my life–despite the fact that I feel better when I'm active. That's not to say I'm sedentary either, I run around quite a bit, I walk a ton in the city and try to eat well too–but that's it for now. Would love to get into a more stable routine someday.
I work out to lose weight and look good, not necessarily to keep in shape. In other words, if I was one of those people who was naturally skinny, I doubt I would ever work out.
I recently started exercising to get fit (If you allow me to say it when I’ve only been doing it for a week). I started doing it because I’ve gained about 35 lbs in my 3 and a half years at BU. I wish I would’ve exercised all my life instead of taking for granted my skinny frame. It’s easy to say I’m fat and I want to lose weight, but it’s much harder to get your ass off the couch and your hand out of the bag of potato chips. I hope my New Year’s resolution lasts more than a month.
