As we all know, Occupiers across the entire country have begun the long haul into winter. These gifts are great for any Occupier, especially since the police have been cracking down on many Occupy camps and limiting access to things Occupiers need.
The best gift for an Occupier is: preparedness! But here are some more practical gifts that could go a long way.
This little guy can charge all of your gadgets without an outlet, all you need is the sun! How convenient. You can charge up anything that could plug into a USB port and your Occupier will no longer have to sneak into Starbucks to charge his/her phone.
This bottle gives you the easiest access to clean water. There is a filter built in, and it filters the water as you drink it. Occupiers need clean water while living outside, and can’t always depend on water donations from citizens. This bottle will solve all of their problems, and personally, I believe it gives them a healthier way to survive given that public water fountains seem more like public pools for germs. It also comes in lots of fun colors.
These little video cameras were a hot holiday item a few years ago, but I can’t think of anything that would be more useful and relevant to the movement. These cameras are great for catching quality video of all the things an Occupier would need to capture, whether it be unwarranted arrests and pepper spray attacks, or a discussion at the General Assembly.
Monopoly Get out of Jail Free Card:
For the especially rowdy Occupier on your list, be sure to write the name and phone number of a great attorney on this card. If they are likely to be arrested, you could be really generous and prepay the first session or hour of service with said attorney.
If none of these options tickle your fancy, buy your Occupier a hands-free Camelback backpack or some waterproofing spray to help withstand the winter precipitation. Or maybe even a 3G mobile hotspot to post videos recorded with a new Flip Video camera. Brilliant!
Also, a facemask to resist pepper-spray would make a great stocking stuffer!
