Millennials have reported, in overwhelming numbers, that climate change is a top issue in their political decision-making process. In a recent Gallup poll, 58 percent of Millennials surveyed said protecting the environment should be given priority “even at the risk of curbing economic growth.” Is it a top issue to you? Are you frustrated by the lack of a cohesive climate change policy?

The War on Drugs is wasting our time, money and lives

By Matt McQuaid on July 28th, 2010
Categories: Drug Week

The War on Drugs has affected young, non-violent drug offenders especially hard. Because, more often than not, drugs are first introduced to people during adolescence, it only makes sense that young people should have to deal with the legal ramifications of drug use. However, the cycle of penalization for drug deterrence takes a toll on our generation.

Hotboxing the Oval: A look into Presidential drug use

By Ethan Long on July 26th, 2010
Categories: Drug Week

Presidents are people, just like us. Especially the presidents we’ve grown up with. The Millennials are watching, and we see Presidents Obama, Bush, and Clinton as people who were just stereotypical college kids, doing the same things you can find in any dorm across the country. By Bridget Schultz I am a self-identified Republican, but I am very dissatisfied with the Republican leadership in Congress. The “party of no” label that stigmatizes the Republican leadership often dissuades me from proclaiming my Elephant roots to some of my Obamamaniac friends. Being a Republican at Syracuse University is not exactly a prolific characteristic. As [...]

Joe Biden might be known for political gaffes, and President Obama might be known for promising change but both will be remembered for (among other things) accomplishing what many other administrations have failed to do for nearly a century. Minutes to midnight, on Sunday March 21st, after a marathon ten-hour congressional session HR 3950: The [...]

Health Care Affects You, Maybe

By Evan Roberts on March 28th, 2010
Categories: Think

So Sunday night, the healthcare bill passed. Anytime a nation of wealth has near 20 percent of the population uninsured, there is a problem. Aside from the heavy tea drinkers, we’re all pretty sure it was for the good of the people, being projected to add 10% of our population or some 30 million people, [...]
